Warehouse Committee

Charge Membership

A committee is established to insure the effective use of the Warehouse and Outside storage area. The goal is to ensure that valuable research equipment and materials can be responsibly and safely stored for future use. The committee will be guided by the Warehouse and Outside Storage Plan dated 30 September 2003.

The Warehouse/Storage Committee will consist of representatives from each of the LDEO Research Divisions, LDEO Marine Office, CIESIN, IRI, other units of the Earth Institute located on the Lamont campus, and the Traffic Supervisor.

During the initial effort to reorganize the warehouse, the committee will work with Co-Chair’s to facilitate the reorganization, provide guidance, and communicate on issues with their respective divisions.

On completion of the reorganization the committee shall serve in an oversight role providing guidance to the Traffic Manager and reporting to their respective Associate Directors. The committee shall review and recommend plans for improvements, maintenance, security, safety, cleanliness, personnel requirements, administrative practices and policies, adequacy of warehouse and storage facilities, and other related support. The committee will conduct an annual screening of those items stored in the warehouse to insure such storage is appropriate.
