Storke-Doherty Lecturer Committee

Charge

The Storke Doherty Lecturer is a 4-year term award that will be made to a candidate selected from among the existing pool of Lamont and externally-funded Postdoctoral Fellows, Postdoctoral Research Scientists, Associate Research Scientists and Doherty Associate Research Scientists on the basis of outstanding scientific merit and potential. This award is joint with the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.

The committee prepares the rank list of candidates and reports it to the Director and to the Chair of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. Documents provided by the candidates (not letters from sponsors) will form the basis for ranking the candidate. Either the Director, or the Department Chair, or both, may once request that the Committee reconsider the composition and/or rank order of their list. The rank listing resulting from such reconsideration will be final. If agreement is reached, then the award will be made to the highest person on the rank list who accepts the offer. If the Director and/or Dept. Chair are unable to endorse this list, then no award will be made in this cycle.
